Taylor trained to become a professional wrestler at the Sir Jeff Kaye's Wrestling School based in Leeds, his hometown. He mostly competed against Chris Gray all over Europe between 2003 and 2006 and he won the 2007 European Mid-Heavyweight title in his hometown. He was signed with the WWE in 2007 and still fights today.
